Abstract

Salivate is a common non-motor symptom of Parkinson’s disease (PD), it is occurred before or after the onset of PD, which is most developing with the progress of PD. Western medicine is not effective in the treatment of PD salivation, while traditional Chinese medicine has certain individualized treatment advantaged. This review elaborated the concept of PD and salivation from the perspective of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine, and systematically reviewed the etiology, pathogenesis and treatment methods of PD with salivation, in order to help the treatment of PD with salivation in integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine.
