Abstract

Hyoid bone is an important observation structure of the hyoid laryngeal complex. Quantitative analysis of hyoid movement plays an important role in evaluating swallowing function. The current main imaging methods of evaluation of hyoid movement rely on video fluoroscopic swallowing study and submental musculoskeletal ultrasound. The observing of morphological structure and scale assessment are most important methods of research. In recent years, the accuracy of hyoid motion parameter analysis has been greatly improved. This paper reviews the research progress in quantitative analysis methods of hyoid movement in pharynx.
