Abstract

<p style="text-align:justify;">

Parkinson's disease(PD)is a common neurodegenerative disorder caused by an imbalance of dopamine-cholinergic system in the nigra striatum leading to reduced level of dopaminergic neurons. Besides typical motor symptoms (MS)such as bradykinesia, static tremor, tonic muscle and abnormal postural gait, PD also manifests a series of complex non-motor symptoms (NMS),such as autonomic dysfunction, cognitive decline, sleep disorder, etc. Among them, sleep disorder as one of the most common PD NMS, can be seen in the whole course of PD disease, seriously affecting patients’ quality of life.However, the etiology of PD sleep disorder is still not clear. Therefore, this paper reviews the pathological mechanism, evaluation and treatment methods to provide new insights for PD sleep disorder management.
